What is Deep TMS?
Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Deep TMS) is an FDA-cleared treatment that uses brief magnetic pulses — the same type and strength used in an MRI — to stimulate the brain regions that regulate mood. How is Deep TMS different from regular TMS?
Both are non-invasive and drug-free, but Deep TMS uses BrainsWay's H-Coil, which reaches deeper and broader brain structures than the figure-8 coil used in standard TMS. Does Deep TMS hurt?
No. Most patients describe a tapping sensation on the scalp during pulses. There is no anesthesia or sedation. Any scalp sensitivity usually fades within the first week as you get used to it.
What are the side effects?
Deep TMS is well tolerated. The most common side effects are temporary scalp discomfort or a mild headache, both of which typically resolve quickly. Because nothing enters your bloodstream, it avoids the systemic side effects of medication.
How long do the results last?
